Nusrat Binta Nizam/Dr Ashley Beecy - Week 05

 07/01/24 - 07/05/24 Week 5:

This week, my primary focus was on dataset cleaning and processing of the provided dataset. I worked extensively on PYP scans, CT scans, ECGs, and ECHO datasets from a few patients. The goal was to ensure the data was clean and ready for analysis, which involved removing any inconsistencies or errors and standardizing the data formats. Once the datasets were prepared, I concentrated on extracting significant features that could be used for further analysis and model training. Following the feature extraction and dataset preparation, I ran initial experiments using two pre-trained models. These experiments aimed to test the model's performance on the cleaned and processed datasets, providing a baseline for further improvements. After completing these experiments, I received detailed feedback from both my mentor and PhD advisor. Their insights were invaluable in refining the approach and identifying areas for improvement. In addition to these tasks, I conducted a time frame-based analysis on the provided dataset. This analysis helped in understanding how certain variables and features evolved over time, providing deeper insights into the temporal patterns within the data.

Looking ahead, my mentor provided a detailed schedule for the upcoming week. The schedule includes observing a heart transplant clinic, participating in a cardiac amyloid-based study, and observing the implementation of AI in heart failure within clinical settings. These upcoming tasks are expected to provide further practical insights and enhance my understanding of the clinical applications of my research.
